What comes with my kitten?

Every kitten leaves NorthCountry with full health records, age-appropriate vaccinations already completed, and a transition guide to help ease the move into your home.

More specifically, the health records include documentation of the vaccinations your kitten has already received and when they're due next, so your veterinarian can continue the schedule without gaps or guesswork. The transition guide is meant to make the first stressful days easier for both you and your kitten — it typically covers the food your kitten is used to eating and its feeding schedule, litter type and habits, and general tips for helping a kitten adjust to a new home, new smells, and new routines with as little stress as possible. Sending your kitten home with something familiar-smelling, like a small blanket or toy from our home, is also something we're happy to include.

We think of this as setting your kitten — and you — up to succeed from day one, rather than just handing off a kitten and a folder of paperwork. Feeding schedules, in particular, are worth following closely for at least the first week or two; sudden food changes are one of the most common causes of digestive upset in a newly relocated kitten, so we recommend sticking with the established routine before gradually transitioning if you'd like to switch foods.

We're also available for questions during the adjustment period after pickup, and honestly well beyond it — reach out any time something comes up, and take a look at available kittens if you're still deciding.
